General submission guidelines (for reference)

Here’s how it works:

1) Over the summer, educators propose an idea for an art or poetry project, related in any way to the issue’s theme. (Past examples of themes: translation, joy, community.)
2) If your project is chosen, you teach the project with your students during the fall or winter. We give you a small stipend to help cover the cost of supplies.
3) Your students' work is published in Young Radish!

For more details, read on …

Educators and youth workers (individual or groups of two) in formal or informal education settings, working with students aged 8-18, are welcome to submit. We are particularly interested in projects with a critical lens.

Projects can involve making art, writing poetry, translating poetry, or a combination thereof. All projects must connect in some way with the issue's theme, broadly interpreted. Alongside student works, we publish short educator reflections on the pedagogical process.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to young.radish.mag [at] gmail.com with any questions.
