Our Terrarium

By Ava Huffner

I live inside a terrarium
With a snail shell as my abode
There’s no madness in my garden
Only the forest
and my pebble road

There are no centipedes here
With their wriggly legs
Only bees and spiders
Who spend their days
Protecting our home
Not bringing hysteria
For we share this little terrarium

The succulents provide shade
And the moss a blanket
The grass I can weave
Into delicate baskets
Everything has a purpose
Everything has a place
Everything is loved
In our little space

Even the glass dome
That confines us in here
Has its own purpose
And we treasure this sphere
For they make up the walls
And hold everything here

They make up our utopia
Our little, darling terrarium

I'm Ava, and I'm a teen that's just trying to get through each day with a smile. I'm pretty basic and boring, but being that is still a beautiful thing. I love "indie" bands like Lunar Vacation and Alvvays, and I love writing to Kevin Creel. I hope you have a lovely day.
