I remember when

By Pearl Brackup

I remember when I walked through your open doors, I knew you were my home. The hard work and long days spent were all worth it. I remember my first rope climb, my first conditioning and practice. I still look back at that day when I got my baby giant and squat-on, on bars. The days I felt like quitting and the times I got back up. I remember all the times I got those big skills I had been training for so hard. But right now is even harder with being away from you. Shut in my house, without my teammates or coaches, and missing you more than ever. One thing I’ve learned over the years that I’ve known you is that, you don’t realize how much you love something until it’s gone.

My name is Pearl, I am 11 years old and go to Neighborhood School in Jamaica Plain. I love to do art, sketches and paintings. But for this project I decided to do computer art. I wanted to remember something when all of this was over so I decided to ask my friends and family to give me three to five words to describe their quarantine. I really wanted to get all the different perspectives of quarantine, I hope you all enjoy.
